HiMate (Rider) Policy

The following HiMate (Rider) Policy (“Policy”) governs the conduct, responsibilities, and obligations of all riders (“Riders” or “Users”) using the HiRide India mobile application, website, and associated services operated by HIRIDE TREK PRIVATE LIMITED (“HiRide”, “We”, or “Us”).

By accessing or using the Platform, the Rider expressly agrees to be bound by this Policy, the Terms and Conditions, and the Privacy Policy.

  • Rider Eligibility and Registration Requirements

    • The Rider shall register on the Platform using accurate, complete, and verifiable information, including name, mobile number, email ID, and any other information required under applicable laws.

    • HiRide reserves the right to verify the identity of Riders at any time and may request supporting documents before allowing continued use of the Platform.

  • Obligations Relating to Luggage and Pre-Ride Compliance

    • The Rider shall, upon request by the Driver or the Platform, upload a photograph with the luggage intended to be carried for the Trip.

    • The Rider agrees that any luggage must comply with safety norms, must not obstruct the driver, and must not include prohibited or illegal items.

    • HiRide reserves the right to deny a Trip or suspend a Rider’s account in case of any violation relating to luggage or misrepresentation.

  • Conduct and Behavioural Expectations

    • The Rider shall maintain courteous, safe, and respectful behaviour toward the Driver and co-passengers throughout the Trip.

    • The Rider shall refrain from any conduct that may:

      1. disrupt, distract, or hinder the Driver’s concentration;

      2. endanger themselves, the Driver, or others;

      3. damage, soil, or injure the Driver’s vehicle or property;

      4. create nuisance, harassment, or discomfort to any person.

    • The Rider shall respect the Driver’s vehicle and maintain cleanliness throughout the duration of the Trip.

  • Rating Obligations and Account Standing

    • The Rider acknowledges that maintaining an acceptable rating score is essential for continued use of the Platform.

    • Repeated poor ratings, complaints, or verified misconduct may result in warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent suspension of the Rider’s account.

    • Riders must treat Drivers fairly and rate them truthfully without harassment, coercion, or malice.

  • Wallet Balance Requirements

    • Riders shall ensure that their HiRide wallet does not fall below ₹100 negative balance.

    • If the wallet reflects a negative balance of up to ₹100 due to cancellations, penalties, or adjustments, the Rider must clear such dues before making any future bookings.

    • HiRide reserves the right to block new bookings until outstanding balances are settled.

  • Communication and Contactability

    • The Rider shall remain reachable on the registered mobile number before and during the Trip for coordination with the Driver.

    • Failure to respond to reasonable communications may result in cancellation of the Trip and applicable cancellation charges.

  • Prohibition of Illegal or Unsafe Items

    • The Rider shall not carry any prohibited, dangerous, flammable, illegal, or hazardous materials during the Trip.

    • In case the Rider is found carrying such items, HiRide may immediately suspend or terminate the Rider’s account and may report the conduct to law enforcement authorities where required.

  • Timeliness and Meeting-Point Obligations

    • The Rider shall arrive at the agreed pick-up location on time and shall wait for at least ten (10) minutes beyond the scheduled pick-up time.

    • Delays caused solely due to the Rider may result in cancellation, penalties, or refusal by the Driver to commence the Trip.

  • Identity Verification and Documentation

    • The Rider may be required to show a government-issued identity document to the Driver or Platform representatives for verification purposes.

    • For intercity or long-distance Trips, the Rider must carry appropriate identity documents as required by law.

  • Responsibility for Third-Party Bookings

    • Where the Rider books seats on behalf of third parties, the Rider undertakes full responsibility for ensuring compliance with this Policy.

    • Any breach by such third parties shall be treated as a breach by the Rider.

  • Liability for Damages and Misconduct

    • The Rider shall be liable for any damage, loss, deterioration, or injury caused due to negligence or violation of this Policy.

    • HiRide may recover damages, impose penalties, or pursue legal remedies where necessary.

  • Enforcement, Suspension, and Termination

    • HiRide may impose disciplinary actions including:

      • warnings;

      • temporary suspension of account;

      • permanent termination of account access.

    • Measures may be imposed for misconduct, low ratings, safety breaches, non-payment of dues, abuse, or fraudulent activity.

  • Acceptance of Privacy and Data Requirements

    • By using the Platform, the Rider agrees that HiRide may collect and process personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

    • Continued use of the Platform constitutes express consent to such processing.

  • Binding Nature of Policy

    • This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms and Conditions of HiRide India.

    • By continuing to use the Platform, the Rider acknowledges full understanding of and agreement with this Policy.
